Tuning
First aspect of modifying a piston is usually the flow optimization. Flashing is removed, windows are enlarged or placed. While doing that one has to make sure that not too much material is removed, this may lead to instability. Forged Pistons from Wiseco are very good (see Onlineshop). They are very rigid and crack proof.
Flow optimizing of pistons
The complete system cylinder/piston has to be examined very closely to determine which modification and where it is sensible. Piston windows have a purpose and should not be switched off by wildly modifying the cylinders porting. The gas that flows into the piston and then exits through the windows is cooling the piston. Optimizing the flow in the piston makes a great difference especially on the 210 ccm Malossi cylinder for Vespa PX 200

Relocation of piston ring pins
A must do for the hardcore tuning freak is the relocation of the piston ring pins. They prevent the piston rings from spinning and slipping into the exhaust or inlet port. For some conversions this has to be done. There are a few piston types that do not allow this modification. Therefore we need to see the piston first. A picture is all we need.

Piston Wiseco, Prox, ...
Our program includes several pistons from manufacturers like Wiseco and Prox. We keep some Wiseco Pistons in stock (see Onlineshop).
Custom built piston
Often there are no more replacement pistons available, or you plan to put an exotic cylinder from another 2 stroker on you engine. Or maybe the original piston is just plain bad, too heavy, piston rings too thick, etc. You just want to use a high quality forged piston. Or you do not want to replace the connecting rod in your crankshaft (i.e. different length, pin diameters) to use a different piston. We typically use Mahle forged blanks that are finished by a german professional company.
Allow 8 weeks for completion.
