Cylinder liners
Aluminium cylinders can be fitted with a cylinder liner. The advantage is that bigger pistons can be used in the cylinder, which often leads to drastically increased displacement. Preferably we use forged Wiseco pistons (see Onlineshop). The Conversions, or respectively cylinder liners are only made to special order. It is always better if you can organize a broken cylinder for the conversion, since many cylinders are rarely available and it also makes no sense to convert a perfectly new cylinder.
Cylinder Liner, unported
A cylinder liner is manufactured to print, the outside is fine turned to the exact dimensions and the inside is left to bore minus 1mm diameter. Also there is a shoulder at the upper liner end. Usually the liners are shrink fitted with circa 0.06 mm oversize.
Please download the template to fill in your liners dimensions here: Liner Drawing
Please make sure to enter the dimensions very accurately. Especially the OD (shrink fit) with a tolerance of only 0.01 mm

Vespa T 5
For the T5 we modify a Malossi 172 ccm cylinder, that is paired with a forged Yamaha DT175 piston for 66.0mm bore (see Onlineshop). This makes for a total of 178 ccm. It is also possible to use a bigger piston, since Wiseco is offering a couple oversize pistons. With 67.0 mm bore this makes for a total of 183 ccm. The cylinder head has a machined chamfer for self centering. We can modify the cylinders porting to your preference, either more low end torque or more high end power.
It is absolutely necessary that we fit the cylinder, piston and cylinder head to the engine housing. The crankshaft is inserted into the housing and cylinder, piston and cylinder head are put on to determine and optimize the geometrical compression and squeeze (i.e. by adding spacers to the cylinder bottom or removing material, modifying the combustion chamber shape). A modification like this is NO plug and play project.
To make this modification we will need your Malossi cylinder, your cylinder head, crankshaft and engine housing.
Allow 8 - 12 weeks for completion

Vespa PX 200
Base for this modification is a Malossi 210 ccm cylinder. We use a custom built forged piston with 72.5 mm diameter. The cylinder can be used with the original crankshaft!!! NO need for a new connecting rod!!! With 57 mm stroke you'll get 235 ccm with 60 mm stroke you'll get 248 ccm and with 62.5 mm you'll get 258 ccm. The cylinder head has a machined chamfer for self centering. We can modify the cylinders porting to your preference, either more low end torque or more high end power. The engine housing has to be modified to accommodate the larger diameter of the liner (76.3 mm) and the larger ports.

Lambretta TS1
Base for this modification is a TS1 cylinder. We use a forged pistonfrom Wiseco (Kawasaki KDX 250 or Yamaha YZ 250) (see Onlineshop) with a diameter of 70 to 72 mm. The piston ring pins are relocated and a different connecting rod has to be used since the piston bolt has 18 mm diameter and a shorter compression height. With 71.5 mm bore and 60 mm stroke you'll get 241 ccm. The cylinder head has a machined chamfer for self centering. We can modify the cylinders porting to your preference, either more low end torque or more high end power. Optional we can enlarge the ports on the TS1 cylinder by adding material on the side and milling- 80 EURO
But then you should also enlarge the ports on the engine housing by adding material. - 80 EURO

Vespa PX 150
Base for this modification is a Pinasco 177 ccm cylinder. We use a forged 66.0 mm piston (see Onlineshop). The cylinder has to be driven with a modified PX 200 crankshaft (16 mm piston bolt, 110 mm connecting rod). The cylinder head has a machined chamfer for self centering. We can modify the cylinders porting to your preference, either more low end torque or more high end power. The engine housing has to be modified to accommodate the larger diameter liner. Also the ports are larger than original.
