LASER WELDING

If the "normal" welding is no longer sufficient and the parts to be welded are too small and too filigree, a laser welding can be considered. Because of the relatively low heat effect, there is virtually no warping. The laser welding is often used to weld complicated aluminum and steel parts.

Pistons can also be easily welded. Piston windows can be closed. Piston ring grooves are completely closed to make a piston with one ring groove from a 2 piston ring piston.

Torn webs between piston windows are repaired by order lasers.

Very often, the laser welding is used to secure crankshafts against twisting.
The crankpin is welded to the respective crankshaft by a laser. Before this, a V groove is inserted in the transition area with a hard metal milling pin.

We leave each crankshaft, which is to be installed in a tuned engine. Experience has shown that crankshafts in operation are very often twisted by a few hundredths to a few tenths. For this, the engine does not necessarily have to be tuned. The maximum permitted rotation is a maximum of approx. 0.03 mm.

Already twisted crankshafts are gladly aligned by us and then laser welded.

Cooling ribs of old gray cast iron cylinders can also be welded again. It is also possible to weld small cracks at the cylinder base.

The field of application of the laser welding is very extensive and the examples count.
