THREAD REPAIR

We repair threads of all sizes. There are 3 different possibilities. The repair works best with the TimeSert threaded bushings from Würth. These are FULL bushings and no spiral springs as are Helicoil screw-in threads. The most extensive repair is the complete free-cutting, cutting-in and re-drilling with subsequent thread cutting.

Helicoil:
The great disadvantage of the Helicoil bushings is that they have hardly any strength. For heavily stressed threads, e.g. Stud bolts for cylinders in aluminum housings are by no means suitable.

If necessary, tapped holes for sheet metal covers can be repaired cost-effectively.

Time Sert Würth:
This is the most stable way to repair threads. Here the defective threaded hole is drilled and a very special thread is cut for the repair bush.

The trick is that the repair bushing has exactly the same pitch as the original thread. Thus the bushing has no thread overlap. In addition, the TimeSert socket is made of a very high-strength steel.

The bushes are screwed in with a high-strength screw glue. In addition, the bushing is firmly pressed outwards into the component by means of the special Würth insertion tool. In our opinion, these TimeSert jacks are much better than the original thread. They have already performed very well in the field of cylinder stud bolts.
Spark plug threads are also permanently and well repaired. Here, short threads are somewhat more sensitive, which they are already up from the ground.
The repair jacks for spark plug threads are made of high-strength copper.
